New Report Wizard, simple SQL, Text Editor - java.lang.NullPointerException

java.lang.NullPointerException


That is the error message I receive when trying to create a simple SQL report from my MySQL database when connecting to the datasource via ODBC.

When I try and create a datasource connection via the "Relational Database" option I get the following erorr message.

Communications link failure

Last packet sent to the server was 0 ms ago.

Please check the configuration of your datasource.I'll send you an attachment file to show you the correct configuration. after this ,please start the service of your Mysql database.
If you still have problems ,you can send me the screen shot of your configuration,and I'll check it for you .

I replaced my (local) IP address with my correct one and now the MySQL connection is working.  Thanks.

I still get the java error if I go the ODBC route.

I am also having same problem, while the matter of ODBC connectivity is fine i have use this for othe mysql databases.
