Inspired by the wish to better deal with the data preparation for developing reports with complicated layouts, but now evolved into an independent, versatile data computing tool.
Simply put, esProc is the software for computing (semi)structured data.
It introduces an open computing environment and the computing ability independent of traditional databases.
esProc is designed to facilitate algorithm description and speed up execution.
It breaks with the traditional relational algebra to establish its own theoretical model that dramatically increases the performance of handling complicated computations.
It’s unfeasible and unnecessary to make the theoretically innovative esProc to be fully compatible with the relational-algebra-based SQL.
esProc targets computations performed on small- and medium-sized clusters with several to dozens of nodes and data-intensive computations that are knotty to solve in SQL.
We develop esProc’s core computing engine on our own and don’t use any open-source technology.
The future esProc is the database & the data warehouse; it will confront the traditional database and data warehouse products in the market.
